Privacy policy

What we collect

• Visitors: you can use the site without an account. We use no advertising, no analytics and no tracking cookies. Your browser remembers your language and, if you sign in, that you are signed in. "Near me" uses your location only inside your browser; it is not sent to us or saved.
• Contact forms: your name, email, phone (if you give it), your message, and the listing it is about.
• Accounts (people who manage listings): email, name and password. Passwords are handled by Google's sign-in service (Firebase); we never see them.
• Listings: the details owners publish, such as names, phone numbers, addresses and opening hours. These are public on purpose.
• Technical records: to stop spam we keep a scrambled (one-way coded) form of the sender's internet address for up to a day. Changes to listings are recorded (who changed what and when) and seen only by the site manager.

Why

To run the directory and minyan times, to answer your messages, to let owners manage their listings, and to prevent abuse. We do not sell information, send marketing, or show ads.

Who can see it

• Everyone: published listings only.
• Contact messages: the site manager. When a message is about a listing, also the people who manage that listing (they answer you by email; their email is not shown to you, and yours is shared with them only so they can answer).
• Service providers that run the site for us: Google Firebase (database, sign-in and website; data stored in Europe), Resend (sending emails), Cloudflare (domain and email forwarding), OpenStreetMap (map images your browser loads), Photon by Komoot (address search: only the address text typed into the search box is sent) and Google Fonts (letters). The Navigate buttons open Google Maps or Waze, which have their own privacy policies.

How long we keep it

• Contact messages and records of sent emails: 12 months, then deleted automatically.
• Spam counters: one day.
• Listings: until the owner deletes them or the site manager removes them.
• Accounts: until they are deleted.

Your rights

Under Israel's Privacy Protection Law you may ask to see the information about you, to correct it, or to delete it. Owners can edit or delete their listings and delete their account in My Items. Anyone can ask us through the Contact us page or by email, and we will answer as soon as we can.

Security

The site uses an encrypted connection (https). Access rules let only owners change their own listings and only the site manager read messages. No system is completely safe, so please don't send sensitive information (such as ID numbers or medical details) through the forms.

Changes

If this policy changes, we will update this page and the date at the top.
