Accessibility statement
Last updated: October 5, 2026
We want everyone to be able to use the Neve Shamir Community website, including people with disabilities. This page explains what we did, what is still limited, and how to tell us about a problem.
Level
The site was checked and adjusted to Israeli Standard 5568 (based on the international WCAG 2.0 guidelines) at level AA, in Hebrew and English, on phones and computers.
What was done
- Every page can be used with the keyboard alone. A visible frame shows where you are, and a "Skip to content" link is the first thing on every page.
- Buttons, fields, pictures and icons have names that screen readers read out, and pages have headings in order.
- Text colours have enough contrast with their background.
- Text can be enlarged with the browser or phone settings (zoom up to 200%) without losing content; the page works at narrow widths without sideways scrolling.
- Hebrew pages are marked as Hebrew and right-to-left, English pages as English, so screen readers use the right voice.
- People who set their phone or computer to reduce motion get no animations.
- Forms say clearly what is missing or wrong.
What is still limited
- The maps can't be fully used with a screen reader. Everything on a map is also in the list next to it (name, address, distance, hours and a Navigate button), so you can always use the list view instead.
- Pictures and posters that shuls and listing owners upload (for example a scanned timetable) may not have a written description. Their minyan times are also shown as text on the shul's page.
- Information entered by shuls and listing owners is checked by them, not by us.
Found a problem?
If something on the site is hard to use, please tell us: what page, what you tried to do, and which device or screen reader you use. Write through the Contact us page (topic "Technical problem") or email info@neve-shamir-community.org. The site manager is the accessibility contact and will answer as soon as possible.
